Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Waited close to an hour for food before I got up and left. The service was lacking and the kitchen, which was in plain view of my seat, seemed understaffed and disinterested. A very poor showing for a restaurant that I have been waiting to try. Needless to say, we won't be back.

We thought the food was fantastic. We are usually picky about our Penne Ala Vodka and this was no disappointment. We also had the stuffed mushroom caps and the bruschetta for an appetizer and a side of meatballs. The food was extremely delicious and cooked well.

Pretty consistent. You can trust the seafood to be top notch, I didn't really care for the tilapia swimming in wine sauce. Too wet for me. Normally I can get a nice martini there, but not this night. My wife always enjoys the salmon. My recommendation would be that they shake up the menu a bit.

My mom and I were driving back from DC and craving pasta. We pass Pescatore's on our way home, but we have never eaten here, so we decided to go for it and called in a take-out order. I ordered the Gnocchi Gabriella and just plain gnocchi in a blush cream sauce. Prices aren't on their online menu, but both came to about $36, which seemed expensive to me. When I went to pick up the food, I checked out the dining room, and it felt a little bit like a chain. I think because it felt like there were so many tables, and the decor was trying too hard- it didn't feel intimate at all. When I carried the food out to the car- two pasta dishes and a hunk of bread- it felt ridiculously heavy. Like, really heavy. I was trying to figure out how it could weigh so much, and when we opened it up, we realized why- huge portion combined with about 40 pounds of sauce. The gnocchi themselves were pretty good, and hit the spot. However, the sauce was just too much. I scooped out an entire bowl-full of sauce, and there was still sauce left to dip the bread into. The sauce was really heavy, and sat a little bit weirdly in my stomach. There were also chunky things in the sauce that I couldn't quite identify. Both my mother and father agreed- my dad took leftovers for lunch, and the first thing he said when he came home was: "it was really heavy". However, the bread was fantastic- two thumbs up. I'm not sure we'll ever be back, but it did satisfy our pasta craving. Their gnocchi and bread were good- I think if they had the option to order smaller portions, and lightened up their "blush cream" sauce to a nice, plain rose sauce, it would have been a perfect meal.

Excellent food. Good prices. Great service. Enough said!

Waiting for them to make a pizza I called ahead of time. No apologies. Just recommened I go somewhere else. That's where I will be going from now on.

Why are there not more people in this place??? Seriously...the staff is amazing...the bar is always jumping! And I mean...jumping like two hot beans in the oiled up skillet! And as for the food.....lemme tell ya....if you get a seat by the open kitchen. The wood burning pizza oven, the 8 or 9 cooks in the kitchen......I mean this place is an experience! What more could I say....and hey....if you are on a tight budget...its always some sort of deal *buy a gift certificate right here on yelp today* All in all, I have yet to complain about this place. Although, it is in a shopping center with a burger joint, a NY. city style bagel joint....AND sushi....it's a fat man's 72 virgins......(so to speak)!!!!!!!!!

I have to rate this place low because while the food had good flavor and seasoning (except my Chilean sea bass) everything we ordered was over cooked, shrimp, salmon, steak. The side order of crab risotto was AWESOME. I would go back for that alone. The bread they give you is awful and my bass was soaked with butter and had no flavor. Waiter was nice but slow. Friendly staff. With some important tweeks this place could be brilliant.

I haven't been back here since last year. I attended the same Christmas party as before, and basically ate the same thing. I will say I felt everything was better than the last time I was here. The table ordered the Calamari, clams casino, and bacon wrapped shrimp as appetizers. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and was by far the best of the three. The clams casino was somewhat dry, but had a decent taste. The Calamari was disappointing, as it was very chewy. I once again had the chicken parm as my entrée. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was moist. Much better than the last time. For my side of pasta I chose the gnocchi. I was very disappointed with them. They were extremely chewy. They were the equivalent of placing balls of half cooked dough in your mouth. I definitely would not get them again. Most of the others got seafood based dishes and all were very pleased. Someone also got the special, which was a pork chop and roasted potatoes. He said it was excellent, and it looked amazing. If I return and that is on the menu, I will definitely try them. All in all, a better experience than last year.

Very disappointing. Warmed up frozen food. Poor poor service. Never checked by manager although we had multiple problems. I can make better at home. We sat outside and felt very ignored. Our waitress was not on game. No support. Worst Mother's Day dinner ever. We will not be back.

I came here last night with a large party for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The restaurant had a room off to the side that could easily accommodate the 20+ people at the dinner, which was great. (Note that the decor of the room was a little...awkward. They tried to be super-Italian, but it came off as cheesy with the wallpaper statues and such.) The servers were excellent and started taking drink orders the second people walked into the room...what more could a girl ask for? For the appetizers, we passed around huge plates of bruschetta. You could tell the bruschetta was freshly prepared and the toasted Italian bread was still crispy. It's amazing how many places can get something as easy as bruschetta wrong, but Pescatore's did a good job. They set up a buffet-style dinner with salad, penne vodka, chicken marsala, and grilled salmon with tomatoes, olive oil and garlic. The penne vodka was delicious, but lacked the heat I was expecting. No big deal! Not everyone likes it spicy. The chicken marsala was pretty standard. The grilled salmon with tomatoes was surprisingly tasty in it's simplicity. I skipped dessert since I was ridiculously full, but I heard that the tiramisu and canolis were both pretty good. All-in-all, this was a good place to have the rehearsal dinner. Pescatore's did a great job of accommodating the large party and the servers were excellent. I would come back to try out their regular menu.

My favorite local Italian Restaurant. I have always have a good meal here. The alfredo is excellent as well as the seafood options. It has a warm and pleasant décor and plenty of room between the tables so that you do not feel like you are crammed into the restaurant. The staff are always helpful and pleasant. Worth the stop.

We came to Pescatore's for lunch and the dining area was empty. I have no complaints about the service however the food was less than average. The veal pasta was simply not good. Something about the meat didn't taste right and the sauce was sour! I probably won't come back but I would advise Yelpers to skip this dish.

Italian places are very tough to get a good review in my book. Between all the great Italian cooks in my family, it makes it very tough to rate good Italian food outside of their kitchens. My girlfriend and father took me to Pescatore's to meet her grandmother for the first time. We went to one of their favorite Italian restaurants. We got there a little after 3 for dinner on a Saturday and we were the only people in the restaurant at the start of our meal. We were seated immediately and was greeted by our server. The vibe I got was an old school, rustic Italian vibe. We were served bread and oil, which was really good, and for appetizers we ordered calamari and the stuffed portabellas. The calamari was tasty, and the portabellas looked good, but I was not a fan of crab. I am a big veal fan, so I ordered the veal Parmesan. The meat had a good flavor but didn't have the tenderness I expected from veal. The red sauce was alright, though it could have been a little sweeter and flavorful. The portions are very big, so unless you are the type of person to clear your plate, expect a snack later on at night. I would go back again, but I would probably order something other than veal.

Food was good but we had an awkward service experience. We stopped in yesterday to pick up a menu, the hostess handed me a menu for Enzo's so I assumed it was the same so when I ordered a pizza she came back and said her manager said that the pizzas weren't available but smaller pizzas were? Dinner was fine and our server was OK but I think the manager should've handled the issue or at least spoke to us but he never acknowledged us.

I've been here several times with my family - my father is a huge fan of this place. The portions are huge, which is good as it's not an inexpensive dinner spot. The decor is a bit kitschy, but it's clean and well lit. Pasta is the star on this menu. Our last visit here was New Year's Day. They were clearly short-staffed (although there were three hostesses - really?) and we ended up with the owner as our waiter. We had some pretty serious service issues initially - we waited 20 minutes for water & to place a drink order, and then almost an hour for our food to arrive. The kitchen actually put the apps to go for some reason. At any rate, the owner was very apologetic, and took all the apps off the bill and sent us a few bottles of wine as well, which was very kind. He even accepted our restaurant.com coupon, despite their sign saying they would not accept them during the holidays. Quick save from them.

My wife and I stopped at Pescatore's for lunch after reading the good reviews online. We were not impressed. We ordered Linguini Pescatore and Braised Pork Sandwich. Both of our meals tasted pre-frozen. The pasta was served with clams still closed. The sauce was thin and tasteless. The whole dish smelly fishy. There was only one other party besides us in restaurant, but our service was still painfully slow. It took forever to our check so we could leave. Steer clear of this place. They keep low prices and large portions, but only serve gross tasteless food.

Great find while on biz trip in PA. Really enjoyed the Linguine Pescatore and service was very attentive. Very nice wine and beer list as well.

My company just had a wonderful party there, the food was fantastic, the servers were great and the drinks flowed. The staff and manger went the extra mile to ensure our event was a success. I wOuld book anOther Party in s heart beat. Had penne, meatballs, sausage, chicken squewers, calimari, ceasar salad. All was Wonderful.

Had to travel for a project to Philly, came in for dinner one day, staff was really nice but the food quickly made us take it off our list of places to try.

The last time I was here was several years ago, and it seems like it's gone downhill. The meal itself was "ok" at best. However, the limoncello is a treat, and the service was exceptional: knowledgable, engaging, and very hard-working!

Good local italian food. Saluted calamari in red is my favorite appetizer.
(4)Derek M.
Extremely limited vegetarian options, which is depressing for an Italian restaurant. (and the vegetarian options they do have are way overpiced.) Limited beer selection. The service was very slow, and we frequently had to remind our server to bring our drinks. The decor tries too hard to be Italian, with faux murals and Sinatra music. This isn't what I expected for such an expensive restaurant.

I really enjoyed my experience at Pescatore's. From the greeting at the door, to the attentive staff and delicious meal - great experience all the way around. And, I now have a new favorite pasta dish - Shrimp fra diavolo! It was divine. The food portions are ridiculous. I literally brought home another meal. Will definitely recommend it. It's high end food in a casual dining atmosphere
(4)Zachary C.
I like the decor, but on my visit I thought the food was just okay and not really worth the price. Although it was a big portion of pasta, the chicken was overcooked, I couldn't even eat it. Also, our server was very rude.

Great place. The food is awesome and love the portion size. My family and I go here regularly.

Ok, so I flew home for the holidays and was looking forward to a nice meal with friends I haven't seen for a bit and Pescatore's was the meeting place. The first sign that it was a bad choice was the bar. They have a nice little sitting area but no waited service. What a waste. Then, once we had to ask the not-so-attentive hostess if we have to wait on ourselves, the designated people went up to the bar with our orders. I asked for sangria. I thought that would be a nice festive drink. I received a glass with a reddish liquid in it and some orange slices. Apparently they do not carry sangria but the bartender said he could make some. I think he got fruit punch, vodka, and muddled up some oranges and poof, sangria. I wasn't able to drink it. Ok, so we are done with the bar, thank goodness, and head to our table. One couple orders a bottle of wine but they are out of it. They order a plan b. A friend and I ordered two splits of a French champagne and were excited to try them. The waitress brought out two bottles of Cook's sparkling wine. I'm no sommelier, but I think there is a bit of a difference between the Cook's and French... We told the waitress we think she brought out the wrong bottles. This was once they were poured though. She told us to drink these on the house and she would get the right ones. Ok, we can live with that. When she came back, she told us that we could either drink this and pay for them or send them back. The price was $8 for Cooks for maybe 6 oz. 750ml is normally 4.99. They wanted $8 for 6 oz. Needless to say, those puppies were sent back. Luckily that was the end of the streak of bad luck. I ordered the pasta fagioli and eggplant parm. Both were tasty. The soup wasn't very hot but acceptable. Would I go back? For take out yes, for dine in, Nope. PS-A friend asked for her dinner to be wrapped up to take home but once it made left the table, we never saw it again...

never again! i happened to be in the area on business and stumbled upon this restaurant. thought i could get a decent salad to go. I waited over 30 minutes for a simple salad with grilled salmon. i had to walk thru the restaurant towards the back to go and get my own order near the kitchen, i then saw the worker putting my salad together with NO GLOVES! had to ask for a knive and fork and 40 minutes later was on my way out with my salad. enough said!

I eat here at least a couple times a month, usually on Saturdays, early in the afternoon. Great place to go for lunch, they've never been busy that time of day in all my trips there, and several times my girlfriend and I were the only ones there. The menu is excellent, portions are huge, and prices are fairly reasonable given how much food you get. There is one waiter with an overzealous Italian accent, but I haven't had any issues with any of the other wait staff, which really matters to me as I have a hearing loss. Anyway, back to the food... as someone else said, the pasta is the showcase here. In particular, I'm a big fan of the Penne Alla Vodka, their Vodka sauce is fantastic. Anything with their Balsamic vinegar reduction is great too. As for the service, I've only had an issue once, when I came to eat on my own for dinner and was seated pretty quickly, then ignored by the wait staff for a solid 20+ minutes. Irked me, but they comped the meal, so... That worked. Usually when I come in for lunch, my food is on the table within 20-25 minutes of being seated, and that includes a decent amount of time spent looking over the menu.

How many times have we heard this story before: Italian restaurant with good atmosphere and an overly extensive menu offers outrageous sized proportions of non-home made pasta for about $20 a plate... too many I'm afraid and Pescatore's is taking it a step further by not including salads with their main courses, charging a $7.50 to split a meal, and serving up frozen pre-made desserts. Even with all of this I would have recommended this establishment to a friend if it weren't for the 45 minute wait to receive our food and the cheesy over the top Italian accent of our server (he was so proud of his Italian that he didn't realize that he was mispronouncing every other word that came out of his mouth.) In short we will not be returning, and based on the number of people in the dining room and the restaurant's recent ads on the half-off sites I'm not sure that it will last much longer for anyone to enjoy it. Too bad as if they focused on a few signature authentic dishes, reduced the two pound sized portions, and stopped trying to nickel and dime dinners with extra fees this could have been a wonderful mom and pop alternative to the chains that are overtaking this area.

Great Italian food. I've been here several times and the service was always friendly and attentive. The fish here is what you really should try, but the steaks and pastas are amazing as well. The food is fresh, and you can tell. Recently, I enjoyed the caesar salad, clams appetizer and pasta with beef tips and was too stuffed by the end of it all to finish. On top of all the great food, the wine menu and craft beer menu are a great thing to see in a family owned restaurant around here. Definitely unexpected! Best Italian food in the area, absolutely.
(5)Lisa K.
We went Saturday night, it was packed! Service was slow and a bit frustrating. Food was wonderful! I ordered lobster, mussels, clams in a diablo sauce- divine. Gnocci with chicken also quite good. Casual family restaurant.

I love this place. It is very italian inside with the faux painted walls, the clouds on the ceiling, the Frank Sinatra coming from overhead and the delicious smells coming from the kitchen. I highly recommend the bruschetta- big slices of bread packed with the tomatoe goodness combo on top. Usually the stuff falls off of those tiny pieces of bread when I have ordered brushetta out before. Not in this case! The service was fast and our waitress Megan was professonal, friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the tri colored tortilleni with crab meat and clams. I ordered the broccoli/spinach penne with olive oil and garlic. VERY good meal, large portions. I am particular on my italian restaurants and this one is top notch!
(5)Lisa M.
This place was great all around. I love the decor of this place, lots of murals on the walls and recessed domes where the light fixtures are. The people in my party got veal Marsala and eggplant Parmesan and I got a house specialty, gnocchi Gabriella. Everyone was really satisfied. Our server Betsy was in training but she was really great and upbeat and her mentor who was watching her was pretty helpful too. Capped off the meal with a yummy cappuccino. This is my new italian place near home.

Okay talk about a waste of time gas energy money etc...i purchased a living social discount for pescatores because my mother had been there recently and kept raving about it...boy was she wrong...i went on a Thursday called and made reservations for my mother and i as per living social rules...we get there the hostesses is ehh but our server is awesome...we start with the bread and a a tomato salad app to share...that was the best part of the meal...i ordered my old standby chicken piccatta and my mother ordered a grilled chicken breast with spinach and Mozzarella cheese...so why does our food look exactly the same? The chicken piccatta came out with raw flour attached to it the breast was huge and hard like a rubber meat puck and it was like a salt lick...ewwww...my mother's was no better...so when our server came to check on us and saw us not wating and our full plates of food he went to go get the manager...now it was my mother and i and maybe 2 other tables...in 15 he never showed up...i left my server a 25% tip called living social and got my money back....never ever go there ever
